Dewey Beach Juniors Beach Volleyball Club Program

SUMMARY:

This program offers participants beach volleyball training and competitions that participants can attend over the summer. Training sessions are progressively structured. Each session offers a series of lessons on a specific set of skills. Skills are taught with an emphasis on correct mechanics. Basic skills are repeated in every session to provide the repetition to build consistency and control. Players will be divided into two groups primarily based on skills and experience more so than age. Beginner’s will spend more time on fundamentals and ball control. Intermediate and advanced players will be challenged with more comprehensive, and progressive drills. Participants will be informed of beach volleyball competitions within a drive of Dewey Beach, and encouraged to team up to compete.

Beach volleyball is the fastest growing sport in NCAA history and several collegiate programs offer scholarships to recruit players. The beach game improves athletic ability, and requires all players to learn all volleyball skills.
