COACHES

Sandsharks Coaching


Our coaches are experienced, certified, and background screened to assure the safety of our junior participants.


All Sandsharks coaches are members of USA Volleyball, the the National Governing Body (NGB) for the sport of volleyball in the United States and recognized as such by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC). All Sandsharks coaches have completed training requirements mandated by USA Volleyball including:


  • IMPACT (Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory), a 4-5 hour online coaching course.
  • SafeSport, a comprehensive 90-minute overview of facts, principles, and strategies to aid coaches in providing a safe and positive sport environments.
  • A USA Volleyball Background Check.


Sandshark coaches vary slightly from year to year, but are all highly experienced, motivated, and committed to our athletes and to growing the game.


2026 Sandshark Coaches


Sandsharks is please to announce our coaching cadre for Summer 2026! Some of these ten coaches will be around all summer and some for just a few weeks. They are all amazing beach players and many are former Sandshark players!


Jonathan Skolnik, Sandsharks Club Director and Senior Coach, has thirteen years experience running volleyball clubs. He has played volleyball, both beach and indoor, for over forty years. He brings his love for the game and his relentless positivity to Sandsharks. His coaching credentials include seven years coaching Sandsharks, eleven seasons coaching USAVolleyball sanctioned indoor club teams (including 19th in the country at the 2013 Boys Junior National Championships in Reno Nevada), and eight years running a beach volleyball camp in Rehoboth. Jon also served as a court coach for USA Volleyball Beach High Performance Tryouts.

Savannah Siegrist, Featured Coach, has both coached and competed in beach volleyball at the college level. In 2024 and 2026 Savannah was an assistant coach for the Jacksonville University Women’s Beach Volleyball program. Siegrist was also the Head Men's Beach Volleyball Coach at Weber International in 2024 and both men’s and women’s head beach coach in 2025. She led the men’s team to 2nd and 3rd place finishes at the AVCA Men's National Championship. Savannah played her freshman season with Jacksonville, where she led the Dolphins with the most wins as part of the #1 pairing. Siegrist then transterred to the University of Oregon, where she graduated and played for three years, totaling 29 wins. She received her Bachelor's and master's degrees in Sports Business from Oregon. While at South River High School she was honored as the Baltimore Sun All-Metro Volleyball Player of the Year and the Capital Gazette's Player of the Year. Siegrist was also involved in the first years of USAV Beach High Performance, including playing for the A2 National and the Chesapeake Region (CHRVA) team, and coaching the development team for CHRVA. Siegrist has been coaching beach volleyball since 2016 for clubs, including South River Volleyball Club, Grit Volleyball, Dynamic Volleyball Academy, Oregon Sand Volleyball, and Sandsharks Beach Volleyball where she has coached for six years.


Cam Rodrigues, Featured Coach, was a member of the USA Youth National Beach Team for four years. He has competed internationally and represented USA at the U21 World Championships in Switzerland. Coach Cam started playing at 8 and played in indoor nationals three times. As a current pro beach player he has competed in multiple AVP qualifiers, and has won multiple open level championships. Cam has coached for twelve years. He’s currently the head beach volleyball coach at the prestigious Grit Volleyball Club in DC. Cam has coached parts of each of the past seven summers with Sandsharks.

Carson Barnes, a former Sandshark, competed in beach and indoor volleyball at Webber International University in Florida. Carson is a three time 18U Beach National Champion, twice represented the USA in the 21U World Championships in Thailand, and won an international gold medal in the 23U NORCECA Championships.

Elaina Millaway, a former Sandshark, plays Division I beach volleyball at Florida Gulf Coast University. In her beach career, she won the 16U USAVolleyball National Championships and the 17U East Coast Championships. In high school she was the Delaware Volleyball Player of the Year as well as Delaware’s Gatorade Player of the Year, which encompasses all sports.


Tim Ennis, the original Sandshark from the club’s formation in 2018, plays collegiately at Division I University of California-Irvine, a top 5 indoor volleyball team. Tim was a starting 6-rotation outside hitter for much of his freshman year at Irvine playing 33 sets. He won a state championship in New Jersey at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School, was named First Team All-State, and was player of the year his senior year, surpassing 1,000 career kills. Tim was also a member of the USAVolleyball Beach National Team Developmental Program.


Scarlet Dunn, a former Sandshark, has played three years of collegiate beach volleyball at Stevenson University. Stevenson recently placed 3rd in Women’s D3 at the 2026 Beach AVCA Nationals. Scarlet has been a Sandshark coach for three years. 


Daniel Ennis
, the second original Sandshark, has committed to play at New York University. Ennis is a three time high school county and sectional champion and a one time New Jersey state champion. Ennis was named First Team All-State. Daniel was a member of the USAVolleyball Beach National Team Developmental Program.

Lily Joyce, a long time Sandshark, was the starting right-side at Cape High School and a coach at Premier Volleyball Club. She has coached two summers for Sandsharks.

Lukas Christman, a former Sandshark, is committed to play Division I volleyball for Northern Kentucky University. He recently played outside hitter for WPVC 18U Armor Black in Orlando FL, which spent time as the #1 ranked club team in the nation. Last year Lukas won states with Lake Howell highschool and was selected to the all state team. He also played for Sandsharks where he won 16U at the 2021 USAV Chesapeake Wave Summer USAV Beach National Qualifier, and bronze in 14U at the 2021 AVP Junior Nationals in Atlantic City NJ. Lukas has also trained with the Czech National Team. Lukas was a member of the USAVolleyball Beach National Team Developmental Program.

GRIT VOLLEYBALL CLUB (Washington DC Metro)

Grit VBC is the Washington DC areas premier Beach Volleyball Club based in Sterling Virginia.  Grit is best known for getting it's players recruited into collegiate beach programs.  Grit coaches help support the Chesapeake Region's HP program and the Sandsharks Dewey Beach Volleyball Club.
